Today was the first day of a 1-2-2 session around my home in Loch Ness. My lovely couple are staying with me at the @lochnesshideaway and spending a couple of days exploring and photographing the local area. Beginning today with an early morning shoot on Loch Ness. We were surrounded by nothing but quiet, birds, ducks, and a flat calm loch with misty low clouds moving gently across the scene. I am delighted when I get to show others just how beautiful the area can be!

Today I crashed into the wall at the pool I have been using for the past year. It was the happiset crash ever as it signified that I am finally back up to my usual swimming speeds. Either that or that I need new goggles that don't steam up.

For the past year it has been a place of joy and slow, supported healing. But I will have to now either learn to turn very fast and frequently or return to normal size public pools which I am unsure about. With many thanks to @polmailyhouselochness for their swimming pool and @thebreathingpt for getting on the right track back to health.

I am having a high cancellation rate this year due to travel and health which is quite understandable. Had a great day with @alexharephotography and @ls

Had a great day with @alexharephotography and @lshepherdphoto who I had asked to run a book-making course for my @creativehavengroup members recently. There is something so wonderful about sitting quietly, making, and then also having an end product to display your images in. This is one of the first books I made which I ended up putting some of my little paintings in. Finally, they have a home! I have still to print and fill my second book and then move onwards to more adventurous handmade books! I am hooked 🙂

I feel like a circus juggler at the moment - switc

I feel like a circus juggler at the moment - switching between writing content for my creative haven membership and hosting lives with them, scheduling podcats guests, editing photos, creating videos for youtube, logistics for workshops... the list goes on. Sometimes I switch between these jobs in the space of 15 mins. I am a great multi-tasker and I have zero interest in anyone telling me multi-tasking isn't effective.

When you have raised two boys single-handed and built a business and a home from scratch in, there's no such argument. I also have an aversion to anyone telling me I need to rest more. I ask you what is the correct amount of working hours in a week? It is actually totally personal to everyone. And when you absolutely adore what you do, it lifts you and gives you great joy, the answer is probably far more hours than someone existing in a paid job where they count the minutes down. So, work however you like, as long you want unapologetically, be always aware of your well-being, and have great pride if you have found work that you adore.
