I recently got through to the finals of Travel Photographer of the Year 2016 with 2 sets of portfolio images. One set was a series of Loch ness images and the other of abstract sea shots. Both subject matters are close to my heart, so I was delighted to have been shortlisted. This is a competition that I hold in high regard and that sees some fabulous entries.
Just to be shortlisted was an honour but I also managed to get special mention for one of the shots in my Loch Ness portfolios. It is an image which was taken on one of those rare days which low mist and calm waters. I was shooting a timelapse sequence at the time at the waters edge but took a few still images as well on a second camera. It is difficult to get a shot like this as it a rare occurrence to see Urquhart castle through the mist.
